Just some reminders about holiday lodge events:
12/3 is the women’s party at the lodge (in the evening).
12/10 is the Santa breakfast at the lodge (in the morning).
12/10 is the men’s party at the lodge (in the evening).
More details about the events will be shared as things get closer but just a reminder. All members and off lake guests welcome to the parties.
Note: Due to lodge bookings and rentals and the men’s/women’s parties, there will not be a board sponsored cocktail party this year.
We DO plan on having something of that sort in the early new year, when lodge rentals and general busyness dies down a bit.
Thanks. Please spread the word about these dates!
Our next General Membership meeting will be on November 30th at the Lake Lodge. We will discuss the budget, provide an update on the dam refurbishment project and other important initiatives for High Crest Lake.
In addition, there are four board member positions opening up for election for the 2023 Calendar Year. Members in good standing are welcome to volunteer as nominees for the board positions by September 23rd. Nominees are requested to provide a picture and written bio via email to Board@highcrestlake.com which will be distributed with the ballots for the election.
Board members are elected for 2 year terms, so those elected will serve for the calendar years of 2023-2024. Any prospective nominee interested in learning more about the roles and responsibilities of board member positions are welcome to ask questions via email to board@highcrestlake.com or contact any board member directly for additional information.
Thank you to the 130 people who voted.
The Budget passed with 111 votes (88.1%) for and 15 votes (11.9%) against.
The Sponsored Membership Pilot Program received 70 votes (53.85%) for and 60 votes (46.15%) against. The Board feels that a two thirds majority is needed to pass this initiative due to potential conflict with by-laws. Additionally, the Board has been made aware of potential legal/tax issues that need further research. As a result, The Board will not implement the program but will continue to research the legal/tax issues.
The Free Dues Raffle was won by Ingrid Cimmino. Congratulations to the Cimminos!
